1.5 mile run in 10:30 or less
Sit ups: 40 in 1 minute or less
Push ups: 25 in 1 minute or less
Pull ups: Body Weight/#

Listed above are the absolute minimum physical requirements of every crew member from the top to the bottom of the chain of Command on day one of our training. Our '80 Hours' of critical training is both Mentally and Physically intense for everyone involved. This training has been designed to mimic the physical and mental stress we endure on the fireline daily. In turn this critical training naturally weeds out the mentally weak and physically unprepared applicants.
A well rounded and intense winter nutrition and training plan focusing on running and upper body strength will help an applicant be successful here. Mental Toughness is an absolute requirement.
Anything short of this kind of preparation and an applicant will fail our training.
